Teacher Tells Students Princess Peach Is a ‘Massive Lesbian’

A New York middle school teacher, Remy Elliott, has enraged Republicans by suggesting to their students that Princess Peach is a “massive lesbian.” It’s almost as if Fox News is now solely dedicated to being outraged by hypothetically queer cartoons.

Elliott posted (and has since deleted) a TikTok explaining a presentation she made about gender and sexuality for middle schoolers involved in a program for her school’s Gay Straight Alliance. In the PowerPoint, they ascribe different sexualities to Nintendo characters. This is actually brilliant and we shouldn’t discourage these kinds of fun teaching methods because school is boring af.

“So the GSA for the school that I teach at decided to do a PowerPoint night, and I decided to combine two of my favorite interests into one,” Elliott said in the now-deleted TikTok. “This is dubiously assigning genders and sexualities to classic Nintendo characters.”

They went on to explain that Yoshi is a trans man, “living his best life with Birdo,” and that “his top surgery turned out amazing. No scars whatsoever. We love that for him.” Elliott added, “Of course, that means that Birdo is an ace trans girl.” (Why does that “of course” mean that??)
