‘AJLT’ S2 E10: ‘Not Funny! Not Funny!’

Aidan takes Carrie to Coney Island for the first time so they can meet Steve at the location for his new bar. Steve, whose accent gets more cartoonish every episode, whips a cooler full of beer out of thin air. Aidan wanders off to FaceTime his 14-year-old son Wyatt (who Carrie low-key hates). Steve starts waxing poetic about hot dogs and clams and Carrie tries to stay awake. Then Brady bikes over to them after railing Lily. (I’m sorry!!)

Miranda’s boss, Raina, is already back from maternity leave. She was only gone five weeks. Miranda says she took twelve and it felt like “a hundred.” Okay, shouldn’t we be advocating for longer maternity leave, ladies??? This conversation is dark.

Charlotte, dressed like Breakfast-at-Tiffany’s-meets-Mary-Poppins, is in the middle of showing Sam Smith some art with “pop sensibility,” when Rock calls the gallery’s landline with an emergency. The emergency is they need their notebook. Can’t they Uber that over? They’re rich. Charlotte calls Harry, who had agreed to pitch in while she worked, but he lied. Again, hire some help, babes.

In the next scene, Charlotte’s enjoying brunch with the ladies. I really hope this is the same day and this is the reason she couldn’t drive the notebook over. She and the girls are living for some zucchini chips. Miranda is dressed like a male singer in the ’80s…
