When I was a kid I loved my Barbies so much that I would literally pop their heads off. Like I played with them so often and so intensely (I had very complicated soap opera-esque plots for all of them) that I’d accidentally tear their heads from their plastic bodies. So when I heard that Barbie has a girlfriend I was VERY excited because I was always too closeted to ever work bisexuality into a storyline. Then Mattel crushed my, and all the other little queer girls’, dreams by making it clear Barbie is not bi but an LGBTQ+ ally.

Happy sag szn!!! Sorry these took me so long to post but our dear sweet Susan Miller is dealing with some serious eye problems and her December horoscopes were posted late. On top of that, I’ve literally felt like doing less than nothing recently. Like if there was a way to do less than lying on the floor and staring at the ceiling, I’d do that.

As you can tell by the way I’m effortlessly funny, hot, cool, etc. etc., I’m a Sag. We might not always be nice, but we’re always kind. We’ll tell you what you don’t want (but need) to hear. We have great tits. …

You might think Netflix’s A New York Christmas Wedding has something to do with New York or Christmas or weddings, but you’d be wrong. It’s more about regret? Like, deep life regrets. And death? And also priests coming around to the idea of legal abortion and gay marriage. Honestly, it’s a lot.

The movie starts with the younger version of the main character, Jennifer (Nia Fairweather), getting mad at her high school BFF/crush Gabrielle (Adriana DeMeo) for wanting to stay home and bang some dude instead of hanging out on Christmas Eve. …

two ppl crying into each other’s mouths

A couple weeks ago, I’m minding my business and blogging about lesbian ghost hunters, when Robyn Exton, the CEO of HER, a dating app for queer women, reaches out to me. I hadn’t thought about this app since 2015 when it was still called Daatch and was the only way I felt comfortable meeting women in NYC since Tinder was a cishet hell. Robyn says she likes my writing voice and wants to use it for her brand. I say okay sure because I’m a slut for a paycheck and I do some freelance work for them.

Then she tells me she’s hiring a head of communications & marketing and wants to interview me for the position. We have a good first Zoom call and she sounds like she wants to hire me. She calls me a week later and says she changed the position slightly to better fit my skills and made this new position because she really wanted “something to work out” with me at the company. Then she tells me the new salary and it’s half that of the initial job. Which of course was insulting, so I say “sorry you need to double that again bb.” …

We’re about to enter into the holiday season of one of the saddest and darkest years of human history. What better way to top it off than with a movie about two nearly identical white women falling in love, all while possessing the chemistry of distant cousins who kind of hate each other and, ultimately, themselves.

Starring America’s Only Lesbian, Kristen Stewart, Happiest Season is a new rom com about a dyke, we’ll call her Lesbian 1, who expects to get to know her live-in girlfriend’s family over the holidays, only to find out she hasn’t even mentioned her existence to them. …

Some of us came out in our twenties, others in our teens, some not until later in life, but occasionally, every now and then, being gay in our society is so goddamn stressful that some people wait until they’ve been dead for 100 years to come out post-mortem to a bunch of gay ghost hunters in Ohio.

There’s apparently been a show about queer ghost hunters on YouTube for, like, five years, and I just found out about it through a New York Post article about a dead lesbian nun. (I don’t even think they air new episodes anymore, sorry.) So, technically this dead nun came out to them in 2018, but I’m scraping the bottom of the barrel here for any fun gay news so pls bear with me. According to the trailer for the show (which came out when Obama was still president), this motley queer crew decided to search for spirits “like them” after learning that the ghost hunting world always assumes specters are straight. …

According to Susan Miller, October is going to be a “unique month that will not be easy for any of us.” Idk how that’s unique compared to every other month this year but ohhhhkay. Apparently the planets will be in a “frenzy, the likes of which I have rarely seen,” she says. Ummmmmmmmm k!!!!

It’s currently Libra season and idk much about Libras but my mom’s a Libra and she is a beautiful people pleaser who will always let you pick where to eat and what to watch on TV. She’s also funny af and has 1,000,000,0000 friends. …

I’ve been trying to stay off the internet (I know, I know, nobody cares), so that explains why it’s been a full seven days — a government work week! — since an interview with Sarah Paulson detailing her relationship with Holland Taylor came out and I’ve said nothing about it. It’s both as interesting and as boring as you’d expect. Let’s needlessly dissect it!!

Roxane Gay interviewed Paulson for Harper’s Bazaar and while I love Roxane Gay, I’m fully against best-selling authors conducting magazine interviews. The entire magazine industry is basically decaying in the hands of one crusty old family and the average salary for an assistant editor is like $30k in New York Fucking City, where a potato sack is $2000/month, so every cover story is critical to giving an up-and-coming and desperately broke writer a shot at their own book deal, dream career, etc. Therefor, established writers should stay in their lane of being wealthy and popular already. …

Warning: spoilers & unsettling cult stuff

In my twenties, I was a prime candidate for a cult. I had no self esteem and was constantly in search of someone to make me feel seen, loved, understood. This is why it’s too depressing for me to watch documentaries about people in this same position, who get tricked into joining cults because they think they’ll find a sense of purpose, of belonging, but instead they’re forced to play night volleyball with some psycho, be fucking branded, given an eating disorder, and repeatedly sexually assaulted. …

TW: sexual assault

After going quiet on YouTube for a few years, former LGBTQ influencer Anthony Quintal, aka Lohanthony, has finally returned. Only, instead of a flamboyantly gay teen with metallic painted nails chugging an energy drink and giving hot takes on pop culture, his followers were greeted by a long-haired, white tee-wearing, newly celibate Anthony, who has apparently turned his life over to the great zaddy in the sky, Jesus Christ.

In the 41-minute-long (heartbreaking) video, Quintal essentially blames his sexuality on the fact that he was molested as a child. This lead him to “sin against other people” by having same-sex relationships, he explains. (Which, as we know, isn’t a thing, but it’s a principle taught in conversion therapy, which some people suspect Quintal underwent.) …
